"Does the world really need another solo virtuoso bass stylist? If it's Aram  Bedrosian, absolutely. The Burlington, Vermont native clears the purely technical bar and then some with a combination of slapping, tapping and chordal strumming of the Hamm/Wooten/Manring varieties ("Thumpty Dumpty" and "Terracotta" are head-shakingly intense), and he's pulling it all off live, as in "Look, Ma, no Pro Tools trickery." But Bedrosian's hidden treasures are twofold: first, he summons a rich, deep, almost instantly signature tone on everything he plays, enhancing difficult material with a clarity and warmth that goes easy on the ears; second, great care and patience is taken to develop melodies and classically-influenced chord progressions, and after the third listen to "Space Opera" and "Sand Castle," you discover that beneath the virtuosic surface of Aram Bedrosian lurks the heart of a budding composer."

-Bass Player Magazine

"In a world that has been so lucky to hear the innovations of Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, and Les Claypool, the performances on this album are no less significant in their brilliant, technical radiance....Weighing in at only half an hour, Aram Bedrosian is a musical onslaught of beauty and ambition.... a significant work to be recognized not only in the Northeast, but throughout the world."

A photo shoot for Hartke Amplification.   Aram was born and raised in Burlington, Vermont. He began playing the bass at age 13 and developed his technique in progressive rock and funk bands throughout high school. He then studied classical composition and jazz improvisation at the University of Vermont while frequently performing live and recording with various touring acts all over the Northeastern US.

After several years of earning a reputation as a first-class professional bassist, he wrote, recorded and released his debut album in 2008; a collection of emotionally resonant and technically dazzling unaccompanied solo pieces. It quickly earned glowing reviews and worldwide attention; leading to solo sets and shared evenings with Buckethead, Joe Bonommassa and other world-class artists as well as numerous endorsements. Since then, he has been hard at work composing and recording an ambitious follow-up album, entitled "A Dark Light".  The pieces he has shared ahead of it's release have received a powerful, visceral response from listeners across the world.

"A Dark Light" is coming in late 2016/early 2017.

Aram is also a highly sought-after bass instructor in Vermont and worldwide via the web. He is the resident bass faculty member at Johnson State College, the founder of the Burlington Music Dojo musical collective, and a frequent contributor to Bass Players United Magazine and several other popular online bass outlets. He still enjoys group work as well and, in addition to sessions and sideman gigs, he regularly plays with drummer Jon Fishman of Phish around the country in a comedy/rock troupe.

Aram uses Ritter Basses,  DR Handmade Strings, Hartke Amplification and MXR Effects. His two main instruments were hand-crafted by the world-renowned German luthier Jens Ritter himself; the second of which, dubbed "The Supernova", was designed by Jens and Aram together and has many unique qualities and capabilities making it tailored for solo bass performance.
